With summer in full swing, I couldn’t help but create a piece that evokes an effortless but pretty summer vibe. Summer time beauty is all about managing to look put together without looking like your melting, even if you feel like you’re being roasted by the summer sun. The “go tos” for achieving a fabulous summer look: a pretty top knot, great sunnies, and a killer swimsuit. Using a Mara Hoffman suit for this illustration was a no brainer, because her prints are amazing and so fun to draw.

Fantastic drawing…or painting? Great use of color and composition. Your anatomy skills/details are fairly spot-on, too.
Thanks for the kind words, writing bolt. I did the piece using an app on my iPad, so I like to think of it as fingerpainting with pixels.
Oh, I see…well, that’s a bit different than doing it with paper and whatever other tool you might use. Some of us don’t partake in the world of digital drawing pads. I’ve dabbled with a photo editing program. And, I’ve done some minor work with MS paint. But, I cannot yet embrace/invest in the IPad/app world.
