Runway Look: Dior Haute Couture Fall 2018

Dior Haute Couture Fall 2018 - Sublime Cravings Illustration

I’m enamored with the direction that Maria Grazia Chiuri has taken Dior since she took the helm at the fashion house. This latest collection featured an array of ethereal chiffon and Chantilly lace dresses in nude and blush tones. Soft, beautiful and refined, the Dior Haute Couture Fall 2018 dress in this illustration features sunray pleated chiffon in the palest shade of pink. Dainty drop earrings embellished with colorful but delicate animal figurines lend a whimsical touch to the whole look.

Luxe in Paradise: Valentino Resort 2019

Current Cravings

Luxe in Paradise - Sublime Cravings Illustration

There’s something so timeless and effortlessly glam about donning a lovely patterned scarf and pairing it with statement sunnies and earrings. In fact every look in Valentino’s 2019 Resort Collection featured head-scarfs, sunnies and large earrings. This illustration features a flowing maxi sundress, over-sized sunnies, a beautiful headscarf and hoop earrings. I decided to add lush foliage and a frosty drink to create a tropical and carefree vibe.

Runway Look: Johanna Ortiz Fall 2018

Current Cravings

Although it’s from Johanna Ortiz’s Fall 2018 collection, this dress is the epitome of sultry and sophisticated summer vibes. This bold red flowing dress, belted by a sumptuous over-sized tropical flower, embodies the aesthetic I can’t wait to play with this summer. That aesthetic is sultry, feminine and apologetic.

My Illustrated Guide to Styling 3 of the Hottest Trends

Current Cravings, Illustrated Style Guide

Click here to download the guide.

I’m so excited to share my latest illustrated style guide with you, because it’s bigger and better than any of my previous guides. For this guide I focused on 3 straight-from-the-runway trends: Pattern Play, Sheer Joy and Punk, Polished and Pretty.

About the Trends:

Pattern Play. One of the hottest fresh-off-the-runway trends, but often the most intimidating to style in real life. The pattern-mixing trend is about incorporating more than one pattern into an outfit.

Sheer Joy. Integrate sheer elements into elements into your outfits to produce looks that are feminine and playful. Whether you choose a sheer lace blouse or a dress with sheer details, wearing sheer pieces is about adding visual interest to your look, rather than being overexposed.

Punk, Polished and Pretty. This is a luxe and feminine approach to adding rock star vibes to your outfits. The aim is to mix punk elements with feminine and refined pieces.

About the Guide:

For this guide, I collaborated with 5 amazing women, each with their own unique personal style, on this project. Specifically, I asked each lady to pick a trend and style it. All their looks and tons of advice on how to style these 3 trends, can be found in my in the guide. Click here to download the guide.

Alice + Olivia Fall 2018 - Sublime Cravings Illustration

Currently craving every single piece from these two looks from Alice + Olivia’s Fall 2018 collection.

Plaid, buffalo check, and zebra print … it’s all about the mix of patterns. Oh and I’ve realized how much I need a leather trumpet skirt in my life.

Grammys 2018: SZA in Atelier Versace

Current Cravings

One of my favorite red carpet looks from this year’s Grammys was SZA in Atelier Versace. SZA definitely has a signature style, and I love that she looked like a glammed up version of herself instead of someone who received a complete red carpet style overhaul.

Runway Look: Fendi Spring 2018

Current Cravings

This look from Fendi’s Spring 2018 collection pairs stripes with plaid and a logo print.

Pattern mixing is not for the timid. And for good reason. Done not so well, it can look like you got dressed in the dark. Done well, it can produce a look that is playful, confident and sophisticated.

Are you a fan of pattern mixing?
