This fall I’m obsessed with statement coats and slouchy sweaters with pencil skirts, so I just had to draw this piece featuring looks from the Dries Van Noten fall collection. I’m so in love with the patterns, colors, and silhouettes employed in these looks. The op art inspired patterns somehow manage to be both playful and sophisticated.
For me, the allure of drawing couture is the opportunity to render intricate details and bold design elements. So you can imagine that when I saw this dress from Chanel’s 2014 Fall Couture collection, I immediately started thinking of the perfect pose for the dress. I wanted a pose that would fit the vibe of the dress while showing off my favorite design elements of the dress, the feathers and the bold jewel encrusted pattern.
