Runway Look: Lanvin Fall 2017

Current Cravings

Taken as a whole, Lanvin’s Fall 2017 collection featured a mix of menswear influenced pieces paired with very soft and feminine elements. Some of the individual looks, however, were ultra feminine with little to no menswear influenced elements. This particular illustration features a look that combines several elements that are quintessentially feminine. Cascading ruffles in dusty pink and lace couldn’t be any more soft and delicate, but still manage to convey a sophisticated vibe.

Craving Spring Trends: Chokers and Ruffles

Current Cravings

My series on standout Spring 2016 clothing and accessory pairings continues with a second combination: ruffles and chokers.

A ruffled dress paired with a choker is a classic pairing that can come off as little “costumey” if you’re not careful. But done right, the look can be romantic with a slight edge. The jewel tones of this Alice + Olivia dress and this Christian Dior choker keeps this look fresh, not “costumey.”

Chokers also pair well with slip dresses (for a very ’90s look). Which combination do you prefer, chokers and ruffles or chokers and slip dresses?

Dance Like Nobody’s Watching: Proenza Schouler Spring 2016

Current Cravings

You can dance like nobody’s watching, but if you’re wearing this Proenza Schouler tiered ruffled dress, chances are that all eyes will be on you. Of course a Pantene commercial worthy hair flip is pretty attention grabbing as well.
